5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guidelines, February 6, 2009

By Wendy L. Last

Joe Campana has done an excellent job of writing a book that every small business needs to access. It is easy to read through and is extremely user friendly. The legal jargon that surrounds the business aspects of "identity theft" are outlined and explained in "layman's" terms. The explanations, check lists, and key points are arranged in a way to be the only really helpful source of printed information I have found regarding the subjects of, "safe harbor", "sensitive information", and "appropriate legal steps'

Privacy Best Practices Do-it-Yourself Guide Aims to Help Small Businesses, Not-for-Profits, Schools and Local Government to Inexpensively and Simply Comply with Federal and State Privacy Compliance Laws

On May 1, 2009 over 10 million organizations nationwide are required to comply with the Red Flags Rule, one more law intended to bring identity theft under control in this country by changing how enterprises handle sensitive information. Numerous state and federal privacy and information security laws already exist, yet few enterprises comply because few are aware the laws exist and that privacy compliance and privacy best practices are required. As a result most small enterprises are at significant financial risk if they lose consumer information. Privacy compliance and privacy best practices can often reduce or eliminate such liability through Safe Harbor.
